This issue can occur of numerous reasons, we won’t dive into that.. ”fixing” it is simple. VERY simple.

1. Log into HP’s iLO (Intergrated Lights-Out)
2. Go to the Remote Console tab, on the top..
3. In the left menu choose Settings
4. Find the Remote Console Acquire setting and enable it.
5. Click Apply

Thats it, just go back to the remote console and use the new “Acquire” button

As soon as I found out I got a problem I thought about ports, well I do have my firewall on and got upnp turned on, but I didn’t rely on it actually opening them.. anyways.. I can’t find real answers on the internet but I did fire up Little Snitch to check the ports.. it doesn’t seem to communicate on any ports other than port 80 and port 443, TCP probably but I didn’t take a look.

So any one out there boggling is mind over this, I seriously don’t think you need any ports open, it’s just another problem on your computer.. probably..

Oh yeah.. and I still can’t upload my music over..

Only one instance of the Array Configuration Utility can be running. The Array Configuration Utility is already running as an application on this server. In order to perform this operation, you must first close the existing running ACU.

 I received this error while no instance of ACU utility was actually running.

Quick look through HP’s website made me realize this is actually a bug with specific versions of the OS incorporated with specific versions of the ACU utility.

Quote from HP’s website:

• When running Windows Server 2003 and ACU Version 8.25 (or earlier).
• When running Windows Server 2008 and ACU Version 8.20 (or earlier).

Just follow the instructions here and you will be back in business no time!

Well, there is an easy way around it.. follow these steps:

1. Fire up a Terminal window
2. Write down the command: top
3. This will show all the processes running currently in the system, Spot the PID (Process ID) for the unarchiver application and then press ctrl-c
4. write down kill -9 PID

So here it is.. all you got to do is open up a Terminal window and run the following commands:

1. defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/Example/Pictures/ForExample/
2. killall SystemUIServer

Be sure not to delete this folder though, I never tried checking what happens if that breaks

It’s purely here to show you how you can configure the DNS SRV records in order for clients to be able to automatically detect the KMS server in the environment.

The instructions below take into consideration that you are familiar with your organizational needs, infrastructure and how to handle DNS. Just to cover my ass here.. You take full responsibility no matter what are the consequences on any action you follow below.

1. Open the DNS mmc.
2. Expand the DNS Zone to the domain required.
3. Right-click on the “_tcp folder”, select “Other New Records”.
4. As new record type, pick Service Location (SRV).
5. Fill in the following information for the new record:
• Service: “_VLMCS” (Not in the drop down list, type it in and be sure to include the underscore.
• Protocol: _tcp
• Port: 1688
• Priority: # (Can be left at 0 or changed according to your needs)
• Host offering the service: your_servers’_FQDN. (IMPORTANT: Be sure to include the dot at the end of the FQDN.)

This procedure is also for a second KMS host. Let’s say you have dynamic updates in your DNS, and your first KMS host actually created the records automatically and everything in the environment is working.

In case you would like to add a seconday KMS host for redundancy, you will have to create the second KMS host manually.

Well Microsoft says so anyways, I’ve seen people online say it was created automatically as well.

That way or the other, if you have another KMS host and you follow steps 1-6 to create the host, you can configure the priority accordingly, also – do NOT forget to change the hostname

It would just freeze out of the blue, no matter if it’s connected to my PC, Mac or PS3.. I would see the spinning blue circle on the front, the drive would be very hot, and nothing helps until I reconnect the power, then it works for about 2-5more minutes before being at it again.

I tried putting a fan behind it, and whenever I do the HDD is far less heated than before, and doesn’t go through that routine. So yeah, I figured I got a heating issue with the drive.

I got to dismantle quite a few electronic gadgets in my life, from all sorts of categories, but I never got a chance around to open an external HDD chassis.

My model is: WD5000d032-000, FW & USB 2.0.

It was a bit harder finding photos of somebody who already did it,for this specific one, but I did, so I thought I might as well share it with the world as well.
